LA MONA ILUSTRE is a touring theatre company made of 15 people from different backgrounds, education and nationalities. Since its beginnings over 10 years ago, they have already been to Chile, Mexico, France, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Brazil, Argentina and Taiwan, telling stories through a unique language: playful, poetic, visual, emotional. During this time, they have focused on relatable and intimate stories, with themes that challenge the viewer and that move them. Pieces where they can talk about themselves, about the human being, its fragilities, misery and fears. They present such tales through the meaningful use of the object, a careful and detailed visuality and a search for sensoriality in the construction of images. As they would describe themselves: “we tell stories with images, we create images with history”.
