Facilitators: Lama Amine, head of arts Seenaryo Beirut/ Lebanon
Creating safe spaces is a workshop led by Seenaryo’s Head of Arts Lama Amine. In this workshop Lama will delve into what it means to devise movement collectively in a safe and participatory way. Sharing from Seenaryo’s practices of working with marginalised communities in Lebanon and Jordan, Lama will guide participants through how to lead or be part of a creation process that recognises the people in the room, is inclusive and respectful of people’s bodies and minds, whilst also pushing people to fully explore the limits and potential of their own mobility. Lama is a performer, choreographer, movement director, teacher and activist. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Movement Directing and teaching from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. As a co-leader, she is assisted by Farah Hindawi, an artist from Seenaryo.
