In 1976 The St. George Theater for Young People was found by Errol Bray and evolveld over the decades into Shopfront Arts Co-op. It´s the only cross-art form organisation dedicated to the artistry of Young People.
Their succesful history includes national and international tours and their work include theatre, films, music, art shows, installations, dance pieces, festivals, posters, magazines and more.
It´s a place were young people between the age of 8 and 26 are allowed to freely express themselves and be creative. They get space and access to ressources to create art without pressure. This is also a collaborative work where young people can connect with established artists and become a part of a community.
There are different opportunities to visualize your idea. You can participate in different workshops, rent the space with the equipment you need or apply for the ArtsLab.
ArtsLab is a project where you have six months to create your art with access to a space, ressourcess, professional mentorship and new networking opportunities.
For Shopfront Arts Co-op it´s important to give Young People the opportunity to express themselves freely, be creative and have an access to art and theater without prejudices, rules and possible pressure. It´s an inclusive community who wants to share great art.
On their program for 2021 are many workshops, the ArtsLab and different performances of the Young People.
